Oh Summer, how you take so long to get here, and leave so quick.

Despite Summer’s quick exit, we all seem to somehow manage to get ourselves a little sunburnt during its brief but smouldering appearance. It’s imperative that our little ones are fully protected from the Sun’s harmful rays, and the heat. So with your help, we have compiled a list of 5 tips that will be sure to help out any new parents.

#1) Shade

Sounds like a no brainer, but it isn’t. Shade is where baby should be at all times. If there is a case where natural shade is not available, it can be manufactured. When carrying the little one around in the park. Check out the new brand Shaidee, and learned how to keep them covered!

#2) Long Sleeves

Naturally, one would think Summer means short sleeves, but in a baby’s case, it’s completely indifferent. In fact, long sleeved Rompers and Onesies made from breathable fabrics like Bamboo Cotton, make your lives as parents, that much easier. If you follow step #1, and your baby is in the shade, it will be cooler there. A long sleeve/long pant option doesn’t seem like they’re going to be melting in it. Furthermore, it protects from the Sun, and you don’t have to put sunscreen on their arms or legs. And don’t forget about mosquitos! Long sleeves always help when dealing with pests like that!

#3) Hydrate

The Sun does a lot more to us than just burning our skin, it also dehydrates us from the overwhelming heat. It is so important to keep your baby hydrated when outside. Not only with water, and formula when feeding. But also, electrolytes need to be mixed in as well. These will hydrate them and can be found in many fruits and fruit juices, but especially Bananas. Bananas are high in Potassium which is an essential electrolyte for getting blood moving and keep the body fully hydrated.
